Deacons and Sub Deacons Minimize

Dn Nurhan.jpg

Dear Faithful,

We are happy to announce that Altar Server and Deacon Training sessions are being re-introduced on September 12, 2007, under the learned and loving leadership of Deacon Nurhan Ipekcian.

Encourage our youth, over 12 years, to participate in these sessions.

The practices will take place every Wednesday, 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary.

Those youth successful in completing the Deacon’s training program receive Holy Orders, whereby they dedicate their lives directly to God and to serve in his Church.

Holy Orders
are one of the Sacraments of the Armenian Church, along with Baptism, Chrismation, Penance, Holy Communion, Marriage, and Anointing of the Sick

A sacrament is a rite which not only signifies some specific grace, but which produces that grace in the souls of the person to whom it is administered.
The Armenian word for sacrament is khorhoort or "mystery." This implies that the fruits of the sacraments are received mysteriously. Although everything which is in and of the Church is sacramental, there are seven formal sacraments of the Armenian Church which correspond to the different states and situations of a person's life.

A good Christian has before him a wide scope of activity in the community, if he or she wishes to participate in the work of the Church.

It is a great service to the Church if a family encourages one of its young members to consecrate his life to the service of God and His Church.

Kindly inform the church office of your participants’ names.
